Global Surgery Summer School calls open for medical students at Holland University

Netherlands' Utrecht University - surgical department of the UMC Utrecht in collaboration with the Netherlands Society for International Surgery NSIS is organising a summer school course on Global Surgery.
The course shall lay focus on essential surgical care from a global outlook.
The main topics will be global surgery and collecting of data in Low and Middle Income countries. There is introduction of a new subject this year - global surgical oncology. Learning methods in this summer school will comprise of both theoretical and practical surgical workshops, experience based stories from experts in the field, working on group assignments and also sharing of inputs by the participants.
Practical workshops will give training in external fixation of fractures and bowel anastomosis techniques, among others.
There's also a contest for research proposals wherein the best one will win free participation in the Global Surgery course of Utrecht Summerschool and €500 euro to spend on your research project or travel expenses.

Period: 1 week ( 20 July, 2020 - 24 July, 2024)
Location: Utrecht University, Netherlands
Fee: € 750.00
For participants from Low and Middle Income countries: €400.00 (reduced)
Included: Course + course materials + lunch
Housing fee: € 200.00
Target audience: Surgical residents, clinical officers and residents in International Health and tropical medicine. But also surgical specialists and medical doctors with an interest in surgery, as well as medical students with a special interest in the global surgical field.
