JIPMER , CSIR to co-organise National workshop on clinical applications of Genomics in Medicine

JIPMER, Puducherry in collaboration with CSIR- IGIB is organising a workshop on "Genomics in Clinics" on 28th January, 2020.
This is a one day workshop which shall comprise of various discussions and presentations, on clinical implementations of our advancing knowledge of genetics and genomics, by some of the eminent personalities of medical fraternity and experts from genomic sciences.
The event includes a talk by Dr. Reena Gulati, JIPMER, on introduction to genetics and genomics. Following her, Dr. Vinod Scaria, CSIR-IGIB will add to the introduction on Genomics and also talk on "Exome Sequencing and Rare Genetic Diseases", after which Dr. Adhitan's "Pharmacogenomics in clinical practice" is scheduled.
The events for the program also consist of presentations titled "Translational Research in Wilson's Disease from bench to bedside", "Genetics of Stroke: Tryst with Single Gene, SNPs and Pharmacogenomics", "Experiences on genomics Genodermatoses" and "Beyond Genomes: Model systems for understanding functions of genetic variants" by Dr Binukumar BK, CSIR-IGIB, Dr Sunil Narayan, JIPMER, Dr Laxmisha Chandrashekhar, JIPMER and Dr Sridhar Sivasubbu, CSIR-IGIB respectively.
The program will include thought provoking sessions on various aspects of translational medicine , future impacts of genome technology and ever evolving facets of modern medicine .
As per organisers it is equally beneficial for practising clinicians , residents and research scholars.
There are no spot registrations and hence registration forms are to be filled and emailed at firstname.lastname@example.org on or before 24th January.
Registrations are open for faculty members and both Residents, PhD scholars at the fee of Rs. 500/- .
